What did Jesus mean in Matthew 18:10 when he said, “Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.”? He meant: Let the beauty and radiance of every unimpressive Christian’s protective angels, quickly put to silence our scorn and ridicule. This reverses all human concepts of greatness.
We are to hold every Christian in the highest esteem. Let his angelic entourage remind you whose son he is. Put your hand over your critical mouth, and show great esteem to all ordinary, childlike disciples. If the fact that this humble disciple is a child of God doesn’t change your attitude about them, then let the terrifying power and rank of their angelic guards’ wake you from your stupor.
