I had many teachers when I was a kid including; my parents, my grandparents, school teachers, Sunday School teachers, neighbors I looked up to, the parents of my friends, and even my bosses. The interesting thing was that they all basically taught me the same things. I am not saying that my Sunday School teachers taught me the exact same lessons as my school teachers, I am just saying that the fundamentals were the same.
My basic training that was consistent across all aspects of my life included; Tell the truth, be respectful, work hard, be dependable, pay your debts, treat people fairly, honor God, your parents, your elders, your country, your word, and your family name. I am not saying I always observed these noble attributes without fail, I am just saying most everyone I knew confirmed these things as being proper.
The point is, I had a lot of good teachers. Tragically, your kids probably don’t have that. So, there is a lot of things you will need to teach them. I would like to focus on one of these things in this week’s PathLight program. Join us as we discuss the importance of teaching your children the truth about marriage.
