What is a husband? The English language tells us. A husband is a man who practices husbandry, or cultivation. He is caretaker. Like a master gardener, his job is to so nurture, tend, and care, for his wife that she brings forth fruit. She becomes a beautiful garden.
The Bible commands earthly husbands to imitate the Lord in nurturing our wives into greater degrees of splendor, by practicing Christlike husbandry. Therefore, whenever we find a wife in full bloom, we would be wise to look at her husband and see if we might learn something from him.
Many Christian men dream of having a Proverbs 31 wife. So, if you want a Proverbs 31 wife; a good place to start would be to do your best with God’s help to become a Proverbs 31 man.
