Imagine the scene; your automobile suddenly sputters and stalls while driving down a busy highway. You try and try to get the car started however all of your efforts fail. You get out and raise the hood, but not being a mechanic, you don’t know where to begin.
Suddenly a man pulls up in a truck and introduces himself as a mechanic from a nearby garage. He certainly looks the part. He has the name of the garage painted on the side of his truck and he is wearing the clothing of a mechanic. He even has grease on his clothes and a tool box in his hand. But, is he a mechanic? Chances are, he is exactly who he says he is. Chances are, he is your best opportunity to get your car repaired. However, if you do not believe he is a mechanic you will send him upon his way and you may remain by the side of the road.
Herein lies a principle of life: Most people do not become what they really are to you until you confess you believe it. The physician cannot help you until you believe he really is a physician. You will not let the plumber fix your leaking faucet until you become convinced, he is really a plumber.
Did you know our Lord has many names and titles? On this week’s PathLight we will consider just a few of God’s names which might help you in your Christian walk. The message from Dr. T. D. Worthington is entitled "Name Recognition".
